Representing and Consulting

The Legal Department of the Agency, at the request of authors and other rightholders, contacts all entities (companies and individuals), and, above all, tries to stop and prevent further infringement of any intellectual property rights out of court.

In case that out-of-court procedure to solve disputable issues fails, at the request of the owner of the right subject to infringement, and with his/her previously given special proxy, the Agency will carry on legal proceedings before the competent court.

The owner of the right subject to court action is obliged to pay all court taxes, experts' testimonies costs, as well as verdict, appeal and execution taxes.
The  Serbia's Authors' Agency long-range experience shows that the Agency  was among leading organizations ensuring copyright and related rights protection according to law.
The Agency achieved outstanding results in this field by enforcing new codes of protection as well as new author's works by explicit interpretation of Copyright and Related Rights Law.

IPR Consulting

In all fields of intellectual properties, the Agency provides specialized consulting services according to the "all inclusive" policy.

Consulting services of the Agency include the following:

- market and competition research;
- legal advices on investment security in the field of intellectual property rights;
- legal advices on legislation status and efficiency of enforcement of domestic laws;
- help in negotiating and concluding intellectual property rights assignment agreements, license assignment agreements etc.
- representation before competent administrative authorities when submitting applications related to administration of industrial property rights;
- consulting and representation in legal proceedings in Serbia;
- consulting related to operation of foreign clients in the region of "ex yu" countries;

Since October 2007, the Agency is capable of providing services in the field of collective administration of copyrights and related rights, through the newly-formed Agency's sector for collective protection services.

On the basis of long-term strategic business cooperation agreement, the Agency also provides professional services to the registered Organization for Collective Administration of Interpreters' Rights "PI".
